Bus and train to Fårup Sommerland

If you are visiting the amusement park, Fårup Sommerland, you can purchase a "fårupkort", which is a combined ticket valid for bus and train within the Northern Region of Denmark as well as an admission ticket to Fårup Sommerland. It is valid until midnight on the travel date. Children under the age of 12 travelling with an adult who has a fårupkort get admission to Fårup Sommerland at a reduced price when showing the fårupkort at the ticket booth in Fårup Sommerland.

Cash payment

Bus tickets can be purchased by cash payment to the bus driver.

The price depends on the customer type (child, adult or senior) and the number of zones. You always have to pay a minimum of 2 zones.

Train tickets for trips on Skagensbanen (Skagen - Frederikshavn) and Hirtshalsbanen (Hirtshals - Hjørring) can be purchased on the train with cash or at Skagen, Frederikshavn or Hjørring Station with cash or credit card (e.g. Visa). Train tickets for trips on Thybanen (Ydby - Thisted) or with DSB (Hobro - Frederikshavn) can be purchased at the station with cash or credit card (e.g. Visa).

Children ride for free

A paying adult or senior can bring up to two children (under the age of 12) for free on busses and trains. A paying child can bring another child (under the age of 12) for free on busses and trains. Drivers and conductors may ask for age documentation.

Extra charge on night busses and trains

If you are travelling by night bus or night train, you have to pay an extra charge of 2 zones at adult price. This does, however, not apply to customers, who use their Rejsekort as payment.

Mobile tickets

You can buy a ticket for bus and train through the app "NT mobilbilletter", which you can download for free in App Store and Google Play. The app is only available in Danish.

You can also buy bus and train tickets for internal travel in the North Denmark Region by text message, if you have a Danish telephone number. You should text the number of your departure zone and the number of zones, you wish to travel to 1271 and answer the first text returned to you with a "JA" within 3 minutes. Otherwise, your order is cancelled.

To give an example, if you are travelling from Aalborg for 2 zones, you should text "1 2" to 1271. Tickets purchased by text message may not be forwarded, and they are only valid if they are presented to the driver or conductor on the mobile phone from which they have been purchased. Forwarding or changes made to mobile tickets are considered as fraud.

Rejsekort

Rejsekort is an electronic ticketing system for travelling by bus, train and metro in most parts of Denmark including the North Denmark Region. Rejsekort unites the different transport operators, travel zones, ticketing systems and discount schemes in Denmark.

When using Rejsekort, the price of a trip depends on the customer type (e.g. child, adult), the time of day (e.g. peak hours), where you travel (there are different prices in e.g. North Jutland and Copenhagen) and which discount rate you are entitled to.
